THE EUROPEAN MOMENT

We formulated clear demands as to how the EU should meet its own requirements to be able to meet the challenges of the present and the future.We brought together the many small and large pro-European initiatives and organisations in Berlin in order to stand up for the values that constitute the European idea for us: solidarity, tolerance, openness, exchange, cooperation, human rights, the rule of law, and democracy. Our first success: 6.000 people came to the March for Europe in Berlin. It all started with this provocative speech: “2016 was a bit of a shit year for politics, wasn’t it? Are you determined not to let the nationalists sweep the floor once again in 2017? Become part of our pro-European campaign and let’s work together to make 2017 a better year for Europe!” True to our motto "Sorry, we're late, but now Europe is being saved" we launched the pro-European campaign THE EUROPEAN MOMENT. Highlights of our campaign were the March for Europe in Berlin 2017 and the e-Petition Bundestag #MachsEuropäisch. Also, we campaigned that Europe Day will become a public holiday in Berlin. Two years after the Brexit we went again to the streets: "March For A New Europe".The difference: This time with an even broader alliance and a concrete vision. Within two months, almost 50 civil society organisations, initiatives, trade unions and parties joined forces to send a strong signal to politicians.
