Kulturstation Zollhäuser Rodenäs
On our way to a Europe of the citizens, people living in rural border regions play a key role. This is where people from different countries meet face to face, and this is where these encounters have to be examined in depth in order for the exchange to continue. Our goal: identifying the traces of cultural variety that have developed over time, and making them visible at local level.
We organise...
- Exhibitions of German and Danish artists
- Lectures on historical events in the border region
- Readings by authors who are dealing with the special history of our region, among other things
- Organ concerts in German and Danish churches
- Classes, including a Danish-German biography project, Danish lessons
- A Book Café with around 3,000 German and Danish books, which can be read on the spot and even taken home free of charge.
We are currently setting up an archive documenting the history of Germany and Denmark with special focus our region.
Catalogues are available for almost all events.

Kulturstation Zollhäuser Rodenäs e.V.
The Kulturstation (Cultural Centre) established in 2006 is located in the Custom Houses building complex at the border between Hoyer (Denmark) and Rodenäs (Germany). At the heart of Kulturstation there is a Book Café, which is managed by a lessee. The Café features a large collection of around 3,000 books, which is maintained by us. Art exhibitions, readings, seminars, classes etc. are organised both in the café itself and in two additional rooms upstairs.
