Senior Citizens for Europe

In the "Year of Volunteering 2011" EUROP’age Saar-Lor-Lux e.V. has startet the project Senioren für Europa. EUROP’age built a network of volunteers, who have been experiencing European integration and are now speakers and ambassadors for Europe in schools, organizations and institutions in rural and urban societies, talking with people about European challenges as well as informing and campaigning for Europe. Volunteers were schooled in the topics of the European Union, their institutions, curreny and political topics over a 4 days course. They learned technical aspects as well as presentation formats and speaking in front of an audience. A visit of the European institutions in Brussels completed their training. Now the Senior Citizens for Europe are ready if inquired to visit schools and public events, to inform, teach, discuss European matters.
