eTwinning – the schools network in Europe

Pädagogischer Austauschdienst
The EU eTwinning programme has been establishing connections between schools and pre-school institutions in Europe since 2005. eTwinning facilitates the creation of unbureaucratic partnerships to promote joint learning activities. German institutions can also cooperate with each other, and eTwinning offers a wide range of opportunities for professional exchanges. The extensive training programme includes seminars in Germany and abroad as well as through online courses. eTwinning will help you achieve a media-educational and European-oriented school. The aim is also to facilitate intercultural exchanges and to integrate European diversity into school life.
Since eTwinning was launched in 2005, the platform has become one of the largest professional communities for the teaching community. To date, eTwinning has connected more than 400,000 teaching staff and educational professionals from schools and pre-school institutions in roughly 40 countries across Europe. The popular topics include seminars on finding partners, expert chat forums, online courses on current educational topics and the use of digital media in the classroom.
eTwinning is part of the EU Erasmus+ programme (2014 to 2020) and is implemented by the National Support Service – in Germany it is based in the Pädagogischer Austauschdienst (PAD) of the Secretariat of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder (with its head office in Bonn).
