Sport as a path to active citizenship

The European seminar “Sport as a path to active citizenship” approaches the themes of sport and active citizenship. The project was funded with support from the European Commission through the "Youth in Action" Program. The aim was to promote sport activities for developing active youth citizenship, to increase the participants’ awareness of the importance of practicing sport not only to maintain a healthy lifestyle, but also to promote the role of the sport activities for social inclusion, to foster intercultural exchange as well as to strengthen the European cooperation between youth NGOs. The project created a multicultural framework for exchanging knowledge, best practice and experiences among the participants and with experts. The seminar used non-formal methods as facilitated discussions, workshops, brainstorming, forum theatre, debates, living library, world café and intercultural activities. Experts: M.
